Nuneaton Town have confirmed the signing of former Solihull Moors captain Ryan Beswick.

Beswick joins the Boro on a two-year deal after the midfielder announced his departure from Moors yesterday.

The 28-year-old had spent seven years at Damson Park and was a key player for the Moors over the years. Beswick was part of the double-winning squad of the 2015/16 season, that won both the National League North and the Birmingham Senior Cup.

He also scored the club’s first ever National League goal, scoring the opener in the Moors’ opening day win over Sutton United last August, although Beswick had spent the majority of this season out with injury.

Nuneaton Town boss Tommy Wright had this to say on the signing of Beswick:

‘He knows all about what it takes to win this League, as he did with Solihull,’ said Wright.

‘He will add vital experience and is another technically gifted and intelligent footballer to add to the group.

‘He can score goals, create chances and is a dead-ball specialist. On top of that, he is a top lad who fits into what we are trying to do here.

‘I can’t wait to see him in a Boro shirt. He’s a natural leader who will add a lot to the dressing room.’
