Former Moors Academy youngster Marshall Willock has been made available for free transfer by new Chesterfield manager Martin Allen.

The young defender left the Moors to join Chesterfield on a two-year deal in August of 2017, after impressing for Solihull Moors’ first-team over last summer’s pre-season campaign.

Willock had been one of the Moors Academy’s strongest prospects and best performers over the course of the 2016/17 season, with his performances causing him to be signed to first-team forms in March 2017, as well as making his first-team debut for the Moors in the Birmingham Senior Cup win against Boldmere St Michaels the previous December.

After joining Chesterfield, the 18-year-old was given loan moves to step three sides Kettering Town and Matlock Town, with his performances for them as well as the Spireites own under-18s side earning him a first-team squad number at the Proact Stadium and also a place on the bench for their League Two fixture against Lincoln City in March.

However, following the club’s relegation to the National League and the appointment of new boss Martin Allen, Willock has now been made available for free transfer.
