Solihull Moors have completed the signing of former Cheltenham Town striker Danny Wright.

The 33-year-old becomes Tim Flowers’ second summer signing, after defender Alex Gudger joined the club last week from Brackley Town.

Wright was released by Cheltenham Town at the end of the season and is a player that has been linked with the Moors for some time.

Former boss Mark Yates was believed to have made a failed attempt to sign the experienced striker in January, around the same time Solihull Moors signed Wright’s former Robins team mate, Kyle Storer.

But now new boss Tim Flowers has now managed to bring Wright to the club and will be hoping Wright will add some fire power to the Moors’ front-line as they approach their third season in the National League.

Wright is an experienced campaigner when it comes to the National League, having had spells with Histon, Cambridge United, Wrexham, Forest Green Rovers, Gateshead and Kidderminster Harriers, playing for all these clubs in the top tier of non-league football.

Having scored over 100 goals at this level, he was also one of the division’s top scorers in the 2015-16 season, scoring 22 goals, a season in which he helped Cheltenham Town clinch the National League title and was also voted as the supporter’s Player of the Season.

Solihull Moors’ fans will be certainly wanting to see some of that form in the new campaign.
