Solihull Moors have completed the signing of Fleetwood Town striker Alex Reid on loan until the end of the season, and have also confirmed the permanent signing of striker Kwame Thomas from Coventry City.

Reid joins the Moors in what will be his second spell at the club, having already had a short time with Solihull in 2015.

The former Aston Villa and Walsall youngster joined Northern Premier Division side Rushall Olympic on his departure from Damson Park, and it turned out to be a prolific spell for the striker, as he scored 40 times in 18 months at Dales Lane.

This form caught the eye of League One side Fleetwood Town, who signed the forward for an undisclosed fee in January 2017.

He has so far only appeared once for the Cod Army, but scored in that appearance, in what was a 2-0 win for Fleetwood over Chesterfield in the Checkatrade Trophy in December.

The 22-year-old has already spent part of this season out on loan in the National League, having made 18 appearances for Wrexham in the first-half of the campaign, scoring three goals.

Solihull Moors have now also confirmed the permanent signing of striker Kwame Thomas, who joins the Moors on a free transfer, signing an 18-month deal after seeing his contract at Coventry City cancelled by mutual consent.

Thomas has been on loan from the Sky Blues since November, and was Mark Yates’ first signing after his appointment as Solihull Moors manager earlier that month.

The striker, 22, had been initially brought to the club until the beginning of January, but then saw his loan extended until the middle of February.

But with his contract now having been brought to an end at the Ricoh Arena, Yates has made the decision to bring Thomas in on a permanent basis.

The former Derby County youngster has appeared 13 times in all competitions for the Moors, and has scored twice.
