Solihull Moors have completed the signing of Birmingham attacker Wes McDonald on a one-month loan deal.
The 20-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a winger, will come straight into contention for the Moors’ National League fixture away at Bromley on Saturday.
He also becomes the third Moors loanee to join from Birmingham City, with goalkeeper Connal Trueman and defender Dan Cleary currently with the club in short-term spells.
McDonald started his career with Fulham’s academy before joining Birmingham in 2013 as a 16-year-old.
The attacker is highly-regarded at St. Andrews, and was top scorer for the Blues’ Under-23 side last season, scoring 10 goals in 24 starts.
Solihull Moors manager Liam McDonald spoke of his gratitude towards the Blues for allowing the loan to take place, and is pleased to have McDonald on board to help plug the gap for the current long list of injuries and suspensions at the club.
‘We’re once again grateful to Birmingham City for allowing us to have Wes on a short-term loan,’ the Moors boss told the club’s official website.
‘As our supporters will know, we’re struggling with injuries at the moment and as a result that has left us light attacking wise.
‘Wes will give us something extra and will help the squad over the next month.’
McDonald loan will last up to and including the 14th of October and he will wear the number 34 shirt for Solihull.
