Solihull Moors have completed the signing of Macclesfield Town’s Courtney Richards on a three-month loan deal.

The Jamaican midfielder will be at Solihull until Tuesday the 12th of December and is eligible to play for the Moors in the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old joined Macclesfield Town in the summer from Torquay United, where he was captain. Richards made 118 appearances for the Gulls in three seasons at Plainmoor.

The midfielder has also had previous spells with Whitehawk, as well as Brighton, Coventry City and Romulus’ academy sides.

Richards has struggled for game time with the Silkmen so far this season, having only started two games from 10.

He will now spend some time at the Automated Technology Group Stadium in a bid for more playing time and Solihull Moors boss Liam McDonald is delighted to have the player on board.

McDonald said: ‘Courtney will add energy and quality to our midfield to complement what we already have.

‘Despite only being 23, he’s an experienced footballer who is a leader and will be a good character to have in our dressing room.’

Richards will go straight into the Moors squad for tomorrow’s trip to Bromley in the National League and will wear the number 35 shirt.
