Solihull Moors have appointed former Chester assistant manager Ross Thorpe as the club’s new chief scout.

This move marks a return to the Moors for Thorpe, who was a Recruitment and Development Officer at the club between 2015 and 2016, where he worked towards aiding the pathway of young players from the Under-19’s side to the first-team.

Thorpe most recently was assistant manager at Chester under former Solihull Moors boss Marcus Bignot, and has also worked as an assistant manager with the Birmingham City women’s team under David Parker.

He now makes his return to Damson Park as chief scout, with the hope of aiding Moors manager Tim Flowers in player recruitment and opposition scouting.
