Macclesfield Town have completed the signing of former Solihull Moors trialist Koby Arthur.

The 21-year-old trained with the Moors at the start of pre-season, after his release by Birmingham City, and also featured in pre-season friendlies against Barwell and Highgate United.

It was believed that Liam McDonald had a strong interest in signing the midfielder ahead of the new season, but Arthur soon joined up with the Silkmen on a trial basis, with Macclesfield assistant boss Steve Watson, who coached Arthur at Birmingham City, having recommended him to manager John Askey.

Arthur impressed sufficiently on trial with the Moors’ National League rivals and now joins them on a one-year-deal.
