Solihull Moors have today announced their first signing of the summer as Stourbridge winger Chris Lait.

A former Moors youth player, he has worked his way up the non-league ranks to reach its pinnacle via Stratford Town and Rushall Olympic before impressing as part of the Stourbridge that stunned the nation by reaching the FA Cup third round.

Lait joined the Glassboys in March 2015, scoring 21 goals during his two and a bit seasons at the War Memorial Ground including an impressive tally of 15 during the 2015/16 campaign.

Despite the goals drying up slightly last term his performances against Whitehawk, Northampton Town and Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup earned him rave reviews.

A quick and skillful winger, according to the Stourbridge website, Lait will team up with former Glassboys team-mate Kristian Green who has become a firm fans favourite at the Moors.

Of his move, Lait told the Solihull Moors website he is ‘delighted to have signed for Liam McDonald’ before affirming his desire to ‘do my best’ and help Moors ‘hopefully rise higher’.

McDonald expressed his delight at finally signing Lait having courted him in the past. He described Lait as a ‘quick, dynamic midfielder who also scored goals’.
