Richard Money was delighted with his side’s performance as he earned his first win as Solihull Moors manager.

Talking to the camera’s after the game, Richard Money said ‘I was delighted with the performance. From 1 – 11 I thought we were very good.’

‘We’ve been searching for the right balance between offense and defence and searching for the right formula and gradually we have eased our way to what we started with tonight. I thought we played with a real good shape and good intelligence and the front three are a problem for anyone.’

‘We just felt we needed to find a way to get those three in the team. We tried 3-4-3 and we left ourselves a little bit open and tonight we’ve decided to go 4-3-3 in the hope that it would suit us better. I thought Paul Green coming back into the team was a real plus and him, Courtney (Richards) and Darren (Carter) really gave us some solidity in the middle and enabled the front three to cause them problems all night. I was really pleased with the way that we performed.’

When asked about the pace of Jermaine Hylton, Oladapo Afolayan and Akwasi Asante causing problems for the Eastleigh backline, Money praised different qualities.

‘I thought they played with some intelligence too. I thought their interchange was good and they filled in for each other really well.’

‘But listen, it’s just a start. I’ve just said to them in there, it’s a great three points and a really important win but to some degree it’s a waste of time if we don’t back it up at the weekend. If we can back it up at the weekend then a tough week will end up being a good week but we’ve still got it all to do.’

Money was also asked about the performance of his defence, particularly Liam Daly who was partnered with yet another central defensive partner on the night.

‘I thought that was Liam’s best performance since I have been at the club. Whether Krissy’s (Kristian Green) pace alongside him gave him a bit more insurance, it probably did and Shep (Murombedzi) at right-back the same and James (Bowen), the same. The three of them have got real good pace, good recovery pace and Kristian was probably our best player, he was outstanding.’

And could this performance be carried through to Saturday?

‘You’d like to think so but it’s never easy in this league. Every game starts from scratch and for us, in the position we are in, every game is a real challenge but we can look forward to it with a little bit more momentum and a little bit more hope. I think they know they have played well tonight, let’s see if we can back it up. I thought we played okay Saturday but defended like clowns so it’s very difficult to win games when you defend like that.’
