Moors Academy graduate Marshall Willock has completed a move to the EFL with Chesterfield.

The towering teenage defender has signed a two-year-deal with the League Two outfit after impressing in a recent trial match.

The 17-year-old was given a first-team squad number by Liam McDonald at the start of the 2017/18 campaign and was recently out on loan at Bromsgrove Sporting.

Willock joined the Moors Academy in 2016 having been released by Walsall but now finds himself back in full-time football with the Spireites.

He is the third Academy graduate to sign professional terms in the last 12 months following Kieran Dawes’ move to Birmingham City and Tyrese Shade’s transfer to Leicester City.

Chesterfield boss Gary Caldwell said: ‘Marshall is someone who has been tracked by Guy (Branston). He is 6’4’ tall with good, athletic ability.

‘He is only young, so he is one for the future and we feel we can work on him and develop him.

‘I’d like to thank Solihull Moors for the way they have handled the negotiations.’

Willock added: ‘I’m delighted to get the move here to Chesterfield as it`s a great opportunity for me to develop and to further my career.

‘I just can`t wait to get stuck in and I`m really excited.’
