Solihull Moors have confirmed the departures of defenders Theo Streete and Jordan Gough.

Streete has been out since the summer, after sustaining a knee injury in a pre-season win away at Barwell.

It was first thought that the injury would keep the 29-year-old out until the new year, but it is now believed that surgery may be required on the injured knee, which would ensure that the defender would miss the remainder of the season.

The Birmingham-born defender had taken on a bit more of a supportive role at the Moors recently, having been part of the backroom staff during the recent managerial transition, but the club have now confirmed that discussions had been ongoing since October regarding his departure.

This ends Streete’s second spell at the club, which began at the beginning of the 2015/16 double winning season, which he was captain for.

His first spell began in 2007, when the defender joined the club from Rotherham United, after spells at Derby County and Doncaster Rovers. He spent four years at Damson Park, before joining Alfreton Town. He later joined Nuneaton Town before returning to the Moors.

The club also confirmed the departure of Jordan Gough, who leaves after three-and-a-half years at Damson Park.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Moors from Gresley Rovers, is confirmed to have requested his release from the club.

Moors boss Liam McDonald spoke to the Solihull Moors official website about the departures and admitted that while he is disappointed by Gough’s departure, he respects his decision to leave for a new challenge.

‘I had a good discussion with Jordan and while I’m disappointed he’s leaving the club, I fully respect his desire to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere after three years at Solihull.

‘I have enjoyed working with both Theo and Jordan during my first few months at the club and I wish them both all the very best for the future.’
