Former Solihull Moors defender Michael Nottingham has been given a move to the Football League, having signed for League One side Blackpool.

The 29-year-old will leave National League North champions Salford City and join up with the Seasiders officially on July the 1st.

This move marks Nottingham’s first opportunity in the Football League, having spent the entirety of his career so far in non-league.

Nottingham left the Moors in May 2016 to join Salford after personal circumstances dictated that the defender needed to move up north and away from Midlands.

Nottingham had originally joined the Moors from Gresley in the summer of 2013 and made over 100 appearances for the club.

The full-back was a key part of the club’s promotion-winning season of 2015/16 and was voted as both the Player’s Player of the Season and Supporter’s Player of the Season for his performances over that campaign.

Nottingham has gone on to appear 93 times for Salford City in his two seasons with the Ammies and helped the club to their first ever promotion to the National League, as they won the National League North title this past season.
