Grimsby Town are interested in signing Solihull Moors midfielder Jamey Osborne, according to BBC Radio Humberside.

Grimsby are currently managed by former Moors boss Marcus Bignot, who left Solihull in November to take over at Blundell Park.

It is believed that Bignot is looking to make Osborne his first signing at the Mariners, when the January transfer window opens in the Football League in just over a week’s time.

The 24-year-old has been one of the star players in the club’s maiden season in the National League and has impressed the Moors fans with his skilful dribbling, creativity and his willingness to go in for a tackle.

One of his best moments came in the FA Cup second round, as the midfielder scored two wonder strikes in the Moors’ defeat away at Football League outfit Luton Town.

The former Redditch United captain was recently reunited with his former Reds manager Liam McDonald at Damson Park, but it is thought that Osborne is willing to entertain a move to the professional game to reunite with Bignot at Grimsby Town, who currently sit 14th in League Two.

Jamey Osborne has also spoken exclusively to Vital Solihull Moors in the latest Vital Interview, where he discussed his career so far, his start to life at the Moors and being reunited with Liam McDonald. The interview will be published at midday today.
