Moors Academy winger Tyrese Shade is set to go trial with Premier League side Leicester City.

The 17-year-old will join up with the Foxes’ Under-23 side from the 17th of July, with the potential of signing for the one-time Premier League champions.

Shade will play a part in two friendly games for Leicester during his trial week. Firstly taking on Sheffield Wednesday’s Under-23s on Wednesday the 19th of July, before the Foxes take on National League North side Nuneaton Town at Liberty Way on Saturday the 22nd of July.

The Birmingham-born winger enjoyed a fantastic first season with the Moors Academy, making 25 appearances, scoring nine goals, as the Academy won promotion to the Midlands Football League Division Two.

Shade was also part of the Moors Under-18s side that won the Joel Richards Memorial Youth Cup in May, as they defeated Romulus’ Under-18s 5-0 in the final, after an impressive cup campaign.

His form for the youth side also attracted the attention of first-team boss Liam McDonald last season, who gave Shade his first-team debut last December in the Birmingham Senior Cup tie against Boldmere St. Michaels, before giving the youngster a first-team deal in February of this year.

McDonald then gave Shade more opportunities with the first-team, this time in the National League, with the winger making league debut as a substitute in the Moors’ defeat away at Tranmere in April, with him making a further substitute appearance in Solihull Moors’ final game of the season away at Guiseley.

Shade has also made an impressive start to the Moors’ pre-season campaign, scoring the opener in last night’s 2-0 win away at Barwell, in what was Solihull’s first match of the summer.

The player is likely to be once again around the first-team squad for tonight’s friendly at Highgate United and also Saturday’s home friendly against Walsall, before he heads off for his Leicester City trial next Monday.
