Solihull Moors have completed the double signing of Birmingham City duo Connal Trueman and Dan Cleary on loan until January.

Goalkeeper Trueman and central defender Cleary are both highly-rated at the Blues and will be with the Moors until the 2nd of January 2018.

Trueman joined Birmingham’s academy in 2007 and has since rose through the ranks, becoming a regular for the Blues’ under-23 side, as well as being named on the bench for the first-team numerous times.

The 21-year-old stopper recently penned a new three-year contract at St Andrews, thanks to his performances with the club’s development team.

Cleary joined Birmingham City in 2016 after leaving Liverpool last summer.

The defender was highly regarded under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool and was even given a place on the Reds’ bench in the Europa League in 2015.

Opportunities became harder to come by for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international under current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and he eventually joined the Blues, where he made 17 appearances for the club’s under-23 side last season, scoring two goals.

The 21-year-old defender impressed enough last season to have a one-year option on his contract implemented this summer.

The pair now join Solihull Moors where they will look to gain senior level experience and boss Liam McDonald is delighted that they have been allowed to gain that experience at the Moors.

‘I’m delighted to bring in Connal (Trueman),’ McDonald told the club’s official website.

‘We’ve been in talks with the view to bringing him to The Moors for a few weeks so we’re pleased to finally get our man.

‘He was outstanding for Blues U23s last season as was proven by the club handing him a new long-term deal recently. We’re looking forward to playing a major part in the next stage of his development.’

McDonald continued: ‘Dan (Cleary) will be a great addition to the squad having represented his country all through the youth levels.

‘He’s a big, strong lad who is technically gifted and will add quality to our defence.

‘I’d like to thank Birmingham City for making both of these loan deals happen. It’s further evidence of the strong relationship we enjoy with all of our local Premier League and Football League clubs through these mutually-beneficial arrangements.’
