Harry White Makes Switch From Moors

Chester FC have announced the signing of Solihull Moors striker Harry White.

The Blues endured a real downturn in form after being seen off twice by Liam McDonald’s side and former Birmingham City winger Jon McCarthy is hopeful that White can give Chester an added goal threat to avoid a repeat of last season.

Former Barnsley man White was signed by Bignot during the summer of 2016 and scored twice in August only to lose his place in the starting XI due to the form of Akwasi Asante and the switch to 4-5-1.

That was until the arrival of Liam McDonald who oversaw the 22 year-old’s five run of eight goals in five games in all competitions coming into the new year, White establishing himself as the club’s number one striker.

He was one of many struck down by injury in the latter part of the campaign but his return wielded a wonder goal at home to York City that appeared to restore the fragile confidence of a side on its way to losing six consecutive matches.

White’s maturity grew as the season progressed turning from an occasional starter to regularly leading the line as a lone striker. While lacking some of the stereotypical qualities associated with the role his intelligence and readiness for the battle improved to the point that White became a leader in performance.

An ambitious talent with a deft touch and a right foot unrivalled by most National League strikers, Chester have got a gem of a player.
