Midfielder Shepherd Murombedzi has become the latest Solihull Moors player to sign up for the 2017/18 season.

The 22-year-old was one of the Moors’ most consistent performers of last season, making 42 appearances in all competitions after joining the club under former boss Marcus Bignot last summer.

The former Torquay man was a firm favourite with the Moors’ fans last season and current boss Liam McDonald is delighted to have ‘Shep’ signed up for another season.

‘I’m delighted to have Shep on board for next season. He’s played an integral part since I came to the club,’ McDonald told the club’s official website.

‘It was evident we missed him towards the end of last season. He’s a player who has a lot of potential and I’m excited to work with him again next season.

‘He’s had a lot of interest, as good players do, but he’s brought into what we have planned for the club and he’s excited to be part of that again.’

Murombedzi also spoke to the club’s website about his new deal and is delighted to extend his stay with the club after enjoying a successful first year with the Moors.

‘I’m happy to be at Solihull again next season, besides the injury I had towards the end, I’ve enjoyed every minute of my first year here.

‘I can’t wait for the games to start again and I believe with the experience we’ve had in our first season we can aim high and give our fans, who I admire greatly, another successful season.

‘The gaffer and staff have done a lot for me since they came to Solihull and I will be working hard to repay the faith they have shown in me.’
